| LET’S PUT ON A SHOW! Student Stageshop - Theatre workshops for grade and middle school students.
For over twenty-five years The Town Players of New Canaan has sponsored theatre workshops for children at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park. Activities include pantomime, improvisation, theatre games and scene work, all in a 115 seat proscenium theatre complex. At the end of each session, students present a performance for friends and family.
Kae Shields, founder and director of Student Stageshop, assisted by Deborah Shields, leads the workshops.
Enrollment is limited in these popular sessions. Limited scholarship assistance is available(Scholarship).
Fall, Spring and Summer sessions.
Two grade school workshops are available: one for students in first and second grade, and one for third and fourth graders. There are also two workshops for Middle school students, one for grades five and six and one for grades seven and eight.
